Kentucky has picked up its first basketball commitment for the class of 2021.

Nolan Hickman – a four-star guard in the rising senior class – announced his commitment to UK today, choosing the Wildcats over offers from Kansas, Oklahoma, Arizona, UCLA and Washington, among others.

Rumors began circulating late Friday evening that a commitment was in the works, with three consecutive FutureCast picks coming in favor of the Wildcats over at Rivals.com, led by Corey Evans flipping his prediction from Kansas.

A new name to those that follow Kentucky basketball recruiting, Hickman is a 6-2 point guard from Mt. Pleasant, Utah. The rankings vary wildly; he’s the thirteenth-ranked point guard and No. 76 player overall according to Rivals, compared to 247 Sports who ranks Hickman as the third-best point guard and No. 30 player overall.

A crafty ball-handler, in his high school junior season Hickman averaged 17.3 points, 3.4 assists and 1.8 steals per game while shooting 38 percent from behind the three-point line.
