In the semi-main event of the Clash of Champions pay-per-view, Drew McIntyre put his WWE Championship on the line against Randy Orton in an Ambulance Match.

Notes written in real-time during the match:

The only way to win this match is for one man to put his opponent in the ambulance and both door must be closed. The ambulance was parked next to the stage area.

McIntyre got in the first bit of offense to start the match but a minute later Orton hit a draping DDT off the second rope. Orton was about to hit the punt kick but Big Show appeared and he held Orton’s leg and then he pulled him out of the ring so he could chokeslam him through the announcer’s table.

McIntyre carried Orton to the area where the ambulance was but first, he used a chair as a weapon but Orton fought back with a crutch and he used a chair as a weapon. They brawled around different parts of the ambulance, including the driver’s side door area. At one point, McIntyre tried for the Claymore but he ended up kicking the door off as Orton moved out of the way.

The brawl moved to the backstage area and Christian appeared to attack Orton for what he did to him back in July. The brawl then moved back to the ambulance area. McIntyre was going to do something to Orton on the top of the ambulance but Orton countered and he slammed the back of McIntyre’s head on the windshield. After the windshield spot, they made their way up to the top of the ambulance as the camera showed the cuts on McIntyre’s back. McIntyre ended up hanging off the top of the ambulance but he fell off as Orton stomped on his hands. Out of nowhere, Shawn Michaels appeared to hit Orton with a superkick. Michaels then tossed Orton off the ambulance.

McIntyre picked up Orton to put him in the ambulance but Orton countered into an RKO on the floor. Orton put McIntyre into the back of the ambulance and he was about to shut the doors but McIntyre fought his way out and he hit Orton with the Claymore. McIntyre put Orton in the ambulance and he could have won the match but he decided that he wanted to punt Orton in the head. McIntyre hit a running punt kick and then closed the doors to retain the title.

Ric Flair drove the ambulance with Orton in the back.
